Second Baptist Church Congregants are (evangelical orthodoxy in belief and holy stance). From our beginnings in a little house on Royal Oaks Avenue in Monrovia, California in 1902, (just 37 years following the freedom of African American slaves on December 18, 1865), to the present. Second Baptist Church continues to stand as a beacon of hope and faith.
SBC is a loving, Christ-centered, diverse congregation that continues to lead in developing a thoughtful blending in traditional and contemporary worship. As part of our purpose, SBC "seeks to promote an enthusiastic Christian witness and intelligent participation in evangelism and missionary outreach, as well as a solution geared to community and world problems through concerned Christian citizenship and the giving of spiritual depth of life through active participation in Christian fellowship."

At SBC Monrovia we have a variety of classes for every age group or for where you are at with your walk with the Lord! Church school starts at 9:00am, all are welcomed!
